About Arnie

Arnie Katz, owner of Golden Hands Massage Therapy

As a licensed massage therapist, bodyworker, and facilitator with 27 years of experience providing massage, and offering educational presentations, classes and workshops, I am dedicated to serving the health and well being of people through professional caring touch. I am a graduate of the Massage Institute of New England, the Integrated Touch Therapy program, a yoga student and teacher trainee, and also attuned to Mariel energy, which is a cousin of Reiki. I have also been shaped and guided over the years by a number of gifted teachers, including a well respected healer who has been mentoring me for over 25 years and comes from a multi-generational lineage of healers. My professional affiliations include the American Massage Council, and also the International Listening Association, as I believe that listening well and intuitive listening are key components of healing and providing excellence to my clients.

Both my life experience as a preemie in an incubator for the first two months of life and my volunteer work in a NICU ward holding preemies have made me keenly aware of the importance of receiving and giving touch for life, health and vitality. I transmit that awareness to each client I work with.

I am passionate about and inspired by the effects of massage, touch, energy healing and breathwork to help people to relax and to heal. I have seen this demonstrated time and again during my years in practice. My clients and workshop participants have included people of all ages, backgrounds, professions, and from all walks and all stages of life: stressed working professionals, athletes, teachers, students, doctors and other health care workers, lawyers, IT professionals, physical therapists, families and their pets, artists, actors, dancers, entertainers, the terminally ill, the recovering well, and the newly born.

My intention for my work is focused on helping people to get in touch with the very best inside themselves.

In addition to my work in private practice and on-site (chair) massage, I have also had professional affiliations with a chiropractor's office, several of Boston's finest hotels (The Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, The Marriott Courtyard Copley, and Fairmont Copley Plaza), fitness centers, The Massachusetts Sports Massage Team and New England Triathlon Series events, The Boston Marathon Sports Massage Team, The Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (N.I.C.U.) at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Fenway Health Center, The Hospice at Mission Hill, and The Boston Living Center.

The modalities and techniques I use in my work include Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Energy Healing, and Conscious Breathwork. I also incorporate stretching and body awareness techniques that I learn from my ongoing practice of Kripalu and Forrest Yoga. I combine these with my own natural intuition, and strong tactile sense that helps me to hone in on the places people hold stress and tension in their bodies. In this way, each session is unique and hand-tailored to your individual needs. You can learn more about the modalities I include by visiting the modalities page. You can learn more about the benefits and effects of my sessions and clients' responses by clicking on the testimonials page.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to working with you soon.

P.S. I also apply my unique touch to animals. You can learn more about this aspect of my work by visiting:
